Denver offers an you the best of both worlds – proximity to the beauty that is the Rocky Mountains as well as all the culture, fine dining, shopping, theater, music, sports, and more that can be found in a large city.
This city, which really is exactly one mile (5,280 feet) above sea level (check out the round brass cap that’s embedded in the 13th step of State Capitol building’s western entrance stairs – it marks the spot!), offers visitors and residents the chance to enjoy more sunny days each year than do the residents of even San Diego or Miami.

Culture lovers will enjoy world-class performing arts venues, live music and comedy clubs, great art galleries, entire districts dedicated to the city’s lively arts scene, historical and arts museums, plenty of Old West heritage to explore, and many festivals held every month of the year!
As for enjoying the outdoors, you can venture out and go kayaking, hiking, bicycling, hot air ballooning and much more in the summer, and enjoy skiing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, snowmobile riding, etc. in the winter. In addition, just 10 minutes from Denver is the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge, home to more than 330 species of wildlife, including deer, bison, burrowing owls, and more.
