I have been working as a Pharmacist since 1986. My practice settings were mainly in retail environments, with some hospital experience along with long-term care and prison settings. Starting in 1993, my career path moved into a District Manager capacity for several different retail chains. It was this experience that taught me the fine points of recruiting Pharmacists and how to make great placements. Pharmacy operations were a focus during my ten years as a District Manager, but recruiting was the most important part of the job. In 2003, I was fortunate enough to be asked to work with Carl Franklin at Rx relief®. This has been the most challenging and most rewarding position I have ever held. It has taken all of my past experience in various management capacities to enable me to succeed in my current position.
Tom Maez, Pharm.D.
Divisional Vice President
My entire career has been spent either running a pharmacy or managing a district for various companies. This has helped me identify and recruit the best talent in the marketplace. The most rewarding part of my job is being able to help great Pharmacists find rewarding positions with a variety of clients and professional settings. Our clients also depend upon our professional experience to understand their staffing challenges, find them competent quality staff and make the best match. When clients and candidates are happy, our business grows.
The key to staffing is to find a need and then find the right solution to fulfill that need. One of the most gratifying aspects of my job is helping candidates find the job of their dreams; it has such a huge impact on their professional and personal life. We can never forget that our focus is to help our clients and candidates succeed. When we can make this happen, our business will continue to grow.
The secret to success in our business is to surround yourself with an excellent team. We can accomplish so much more working together than we could ever do working alone. The sense of accomplishment is better when we achieve our goals together and everyone can see the results of their efforts.
To reduce stress I enjoy martial arts, yoga, working out and spending time with my family. I am somewhat of a political news junkie and election season is a great time of year for me. My kids are a great source of pride; watching them grow up gives me a sense of satisfaction and joy. I also enjoy traveling with my wife, both for pleasure and to the various trade shows and work functions we are fortunate enough to attend.
