In this position, you’ll verify that written prescriptions or requests for prescription refills are complete and accurate.
You also will create and maintain patient profiles, which will include a list of medications taken by individual patients. You’ll ensure the proper storage and security of drugs.
In addition, you’ll answer phones and respond to requests and questions.
You’ll be charged with prepacking bulk medicines, filling bottles with prescribed medicines and typing and affixing labels.
You’ll also mix pharmaceutical preparations according to written prescriptions.
You must have a least one year of recent experience in a hospital pharmacy as an oncology pharmacist. A residency, or board certification is preferred, but you also must have a clean, open and active license as a pharmacist in California. You’ll have to pass a background check, drug screen and meet client health screening criteria.
You must be able to work within a rotating schedule. In addition, you should be able to work beyond the set ending time of this assignment or understand that it could end before its set end time, depending on the client’s need.
